Measure for Measure

BLACK VILLAGE

LUTZ BASSMANN, AURÉLIEN DUMONT, L’INSTANT DONNÉ, FRÉDÉRIC SONNTAG / creation

The L’Instant Donné ensemble and Frédéric Sonntag guide us through the world of the novelist Antoine Volodine.

The performance has the air of a clandestine meeting. In a dimly lit space, a small group forms a circle around the actress Hélène Alexandridis, the narrator of a very strange story. To represent the bleak although not entirely humourless worldview of Lutz Bassmann, alias Antoine Volodine, Aurélien Dumont has composed a score that plays with words and silences, and leaves the imagination free to take flight.
