The Age of Possibilities

In the skin of Don Quixote

La Cordonnerie / creation

The famous knight imagined by Cervantes becomes the character in the new cinema-performance by La Cordonnerie. A Don Quixote who dreams of justice and idealism in the 2000s. To the point of losing himself.

After the tale of Snow White, the tandem formed by Samuel Hercule and Métilde Weyergans makes a personal re-reading of a myth of European culture. This melancholy fable is served by the subtle ingenuity and humour of La Cordonnerie, in a staging as precise as clockwork, and an even greater osmosis between stage and screen. A tragicomic spectacle for all audiences on the superb madness of believing in one’s dreams.

Since 1997, the Cordonnerie has been developing a multidisciplinary style of creation, fusing theater, film and music, that we have decided to name « cine-performance ». Our very first rehearsals took place in the backroom of a shoe repair shop in the heart of Lyon – a « cordonnerie » in French. The name stuck !
