Death Breath Orchestra

Alice Laloy

Alice Laloy stages a tribe of musicians in a suffocating atmosphere, making theatre from the very act of breathing. When the theatre of objects and machines meets the musical.

After the success of Ça Dada presented in 2018 at the Nouveau Théâtre de Montreuil, the director Alice Laloy is back with a musical steeped in absurd humour. The actor-musicians interact with wind tunnels, inflatable objects, human effigies and compositions for brass instruments by musician Eric Recordier. This “orchestra of the last breath” makes breathing seem like a vital adventure, the ultimate revolt against annihilation.

Director, scenographer and costumer, Alice Laloy was formed at the school of the National Theater of Strasbourg. She worked with the directors Lukas Hemleb, Catherine Anne, Jean-Pierre Vincent, Yannick Jaulin... She founded "La compagnie S’appelle Reviens" in Alsace, and created shows in confrontation with the matter : D’états de femmes (2004), Moderato (2006), Batailles (2012), Rebatailles (2013), Sous ma peau / (2015).
